The primary obligation of the Guidance Counseling Department at Deerfield-Windsor School is to help meet the needs of all students academically, socially, and personally while encouraging an attitude of respect for all individuals.
Deerfield-Windsor’s Counseling Department provides support services to students who may be experiencing problems with the process of learning. Interventions include, but are not limited to short term counseling and guidance, crisis intervention and referrals to appropriate community resources.
Age appropriate programs and educational opportunities help promote and foster a climate that is inclusive and thorough.
Girl Talk, a nationally recognized program for middle school girls, affords the opportunity for young girls to discuss the “ups and downs” of middle school with their high school mentors. This group meets each week and provides an opening for interaction of high school and middle school girls in a non-threatening atmosphere.
