Chris Michas, son of Julie and Paul Michas, was named STAR student for Dougherty County today at a special luncheon hosted by the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce. Chris selected DWS faculty member, Travis Campbell, as his STAR teacher.

The STAR program honors Georgia’s outstanding high school seniors and the teachers who have been most instrumental in their academic development. To be selected for this honor, a senior must have the highest score on a single test date for the 3-part SAT taken on or before the November test date and be in the top 10% or the top 10 students in their senior class based on GPA.

Congratulations to Chris and to Dr. Campbell on this great accomplishment!

In addition, a DWS student and teacher have claimed the Dougherty County STAR titles for 14 of the last 17 years!
