Senior Candace Cosby organized a project to collect used, unwanted prescription eye glasses and sunglasses (including nonprescription sunglasses) to send to the people of underprivileged countries who desperately need help improving their vision. Candace's "Glasses for the Masses" project brought in 584 pairs of glasses which were donated to the University of Alabama School of Optometry. Candace presented the glasses to Rodney W. Nowakowski, O.D., Ph. D., Dean of UABSO and Brandon Runyon, a 3rd year student and president of SVOSH (Student Volunteers in Optometric Service to Humanity). Thank you to all who donated eyeglasses and helped Candace make this project a success!
