The President's Scholarship is Georgia Tech's top, completely merit-based scholarship. To be selected for this prestigious award, a student must have an outstanding record in both leadership and academics.
This year was Georgia Tech’s most competitive ever for the scholarship, with more than 8,000 students applying to Georgia Tech by the deadline. From this very talented pool, Tech chose the most outstanding 75 students to receive the President’s Scholarship. The winners were among the top students in the nation.
Alex Berry is the recipient of a President's Scholarship at the Georgia Institute of Technology. Alex was the president and co-founder of the Spanish club in which he established a 6th grade mentoring program. He was also the Latin Club secretary in eleventh and twelfth grade and the Beta Club co-president. He played varsity soccer and track. Alex also has participated in extensive international travel.
This scholarship is worth $32,000 over the next four years, but the President’s Scholarship Program is much more than just money. Alex will have access to scholarships to study abroad, he will have early registration for housing, and he will enjoy being a part of a community of scholars and leaders involved in all aspects of Georgia Tech, including research, music, leadership, journalism, sports, and community service.
Georgia Tech graduate and 2003 DWS alum Jake Reese was on campus to present Alex with this scholarship. Congratulations, Alex!
