Posted: September 26, 2012

Students, parents and faculty gathered to participate in this global day of prayer. The group was led in prayer by Coach Steve Futch. Prayers were also given by parents, Colonel Don Davis and Carla Darden as well as three lower school students, Graham Ford, Hunter Murray and Ellen Kesler. Davis Kinney brought his guitar and led the group in music.

The students released red, white and blue balloons that had prayer grams attached to them. The prayer grams were written by lower school FCA students. Over 90 prayer grams were submitted. Here are a few of the prayer grams written.

"I pray for Clark S. because he has a dislocated knee cap." Anonymous

"Pray for our nation and for all the soldiers that died in 9/11.” Haley Walden

"I will pray for: Sarah's arm, the nation, for families and friends. I will pray to God." Bella Belusko

"pray for school, friends and family, St. Jude's children". Elizabeth Leveson

"I pray for our nation to stay free and for all the poor people in our nation. I pray for my friends and families health. I pray for my school to keep believing in God and to trust each other.". Charlotte

Parent sponsor, Kimberly Murray, was overwhelmed with the support for this event. She is excited about being involved with FCA and helping these young children develop into strong leaders for tomorrow.

FCA will be participating in Operation Christmas Child in October. They will be collecting shoeboxes and monetary donations to fill the shoeboxes. FCA members will assemble the shoeboxes at their meeting on Friday, October 26.

FCA at the lower school is open to students in third to fifth grades. They meet at 7:45 AM on most Friday mornings.
