Our counselor’s responsibility is to promote the academic, personal, and social development of all the students and to help ensure that each child has a productive and positive school year. Classroom guidance lessons take place weekly in each class. Topics include bully prevention education, anger management, self-esteem, problem solving skills, career awareness, and study skills. These lessons are taught using engaging materials such as puppets, music, books, skits, and role playing depending on the age of the child.
Group counseling is provided as needed for students experiencing similar issues. Short term one on one counseling support is available for all students. Students may self-refer or be referred by teachers/staff, or parents. Confidentiality is respected. Every child's emotional well-being is our counselor’s top priority.
