Volunteering
DWS believes strongly in the value of community service. Service to others – on campus, in the community and around the world – enhances students’ sense of responsibility, selflessness, compassion and respect for others.
Volunteer hours are an official part of the DWS High School curriculum. A total of 55 volunteer hours must be earned during a student’s time in high school in order to graduate.
Volunteer Graduation Requirements:
- A total of 55 volunteer hours must be documented by May 1st of a student’s senior year in order to graduate from Deerfield-Windsor School.
- Students may begin accumulating volunteer hours the summer before their freshman year.
- Volunteer forms are available in the Counseling Office or on this website in the Forms section. Volunteer forms must be signed by an agency official and must be approved by a DWS counselor before hours are recorded on the student’s transcript.
- The Counseling Office can help a student determine if a specific activity qualifies for school volunteer credit prior to participation.
