Athletic Training

Trainers work closely with our student athletes to help prevent injuries and help them return to action safely and as quickly as possible.

Sports Medicine

We are very proud of our Sports Medicine program. Our certified athletic trainer cares for our student-athletes, evaluating and preventing injuries and rehabilitating injured athletes in coordination with their own physicians.

In addition, our athletic trainer is accessible during practice and games to assist athletes in case of injury and they keep records on individual athletes, their injuries and treatments.

Current DWS students who have an interest in sports medicine are on the sidelines at games helping the athletic trainer and gaining hands-on experience. By participating as a student athletic trainer they learn to prevent, recognize, treat and rehabilitate athletic injuries.
