Joshi Wins State Oratorical Program

Meenal Joshi has won the 2017 State of Georgia High School Oratorical Scholarship Program "A Constitutional Speech Contest" and will speak at the national contest in Indianapolis, IN in April. She represents DWS and American Legion Post 335 in Sylvester.

Meenal's prepared speech entitled "Pokémon, Freedom and the Constitution" takes its listener on a study of the U.S. Constitution using the 21st century electronic game as a guide. She will also have to present a speech on either the 7th, 10th, 16th or 17th Amendments. The specific topic will be drawn at the contest and Meenal will have 5 minutes to prepare.

Meenal is pictured wearing her medal with DWS Alum Philip Bishop, '04, who won the national contest.
